TOYP

TOYP program in JCI Estonia celebrates 10th anniversary!

This 4-letter acronym presents one of the oldest and most exclusive programs in JCI which  fulfills our mission:

  • to contribute to the advancement of the community and
  • to encourage young people to seek excellence and serve others.

The Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World Program (JCI TOYP) serves to formally recognize young people between ages 18 to 40 who excel in their chosen fields. Our exceptional youth can act as role models for other young people locally or around the world.  It’s just one way that JCI contributes to preparing better leaders, who will create better societies.
Awards are given to young men and women over the world in 10 categories: business, politics, academic leadership, culture, science, ethics, human rights, medical innovation, society and personal improvement.

Did you know that such well-known personalities as Elvis Presley, Nelson Rockefeller, John F. Kennedy,Wayne Gretzky, Jackie Chan, Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton and many, many more, all named before the age of 40. Here you can follow how Elvis Presley was giving his speech in the reception of the award in 1971.

In Estonia TOYP Program was first executed in 1999.  Among many honorees in  JCI Estonia TOYP program there are dramatist Jaan Tätte, politician Kristina Ojuland, cross-country olympic gold Andrus Veerpalu. Here you can find out who else has got TOYP awards in Estonia since 1999.

In 1993 Mart Laar, as a youngest Prime Minister in Europe, was honoured with JCI TOYP Award in the international level. 2 years ago IT-guru Tarvi Martens was recognized with world TOYP Award. Here you can watch how Tarvi Martens receives his TOYP Trophy in 2007.
