1. What is your current position, main activity?
I am one of the founding partners of Trainifique, an European company focusing on leadership development through mentorprograms and trainings. I am also the owner and CEO of the Roer Group, an Information Security consulting group established in 1994, operating on three continents.
My main activities are business development and conceptualizing new ideas and ventures.
2. As who do you like to introduce yourself?
The short version is: I inspire leaders worldwide.
I am an European entrepreneur believing in mankind, following my passion for developing people, helping them to reach their fullest potential.
3. In what area are you known as an expert?
I am a worldwide recognized thought leader within the information security sphere, according to many of my peers. My blog www.roer.com is considered an important resource for security information with a global mind, and a European focus.
I am also considered a mentor and motivator around the world. Leaders around the world come to me for advice, tips and inspiration. And within JCI, I am considered one of the best trainers in Europe (nominated for Best Trainer Award 2009).
4. How do you distinct in your area?
By being myself, being passionate about what I do. People claim I am the most happy guy in information security, people say I am very good at what I do. And my clients tends to come back for more. And more. And more. Not everyone can say that, I guess.
5. How did you get there where you are now?
Hard work, getting back up more than falling, never giving up. But most importantly, I have reached this level by following my passion, by letting my heart show the way.
6. What was the most important lesson in creating your personal brand? What suggestions you have to others?
Follow you heart. And let your brain be the tool to pave the road to where ever your heart wants to go.
That is the most important lesson I learned, and the tip I give to others.
7. How do you know that you are successful in your area of expertise.
I do not consider myself to be an expert, but constantly look for improvement in the areas I enjoy. As noted above, I follow my passion, I let my heart be my guide to my actions. Success is measured in the amount of happiness I generate - for myself and others.
